Commissions
Commission work is a very individual process and is completely tailored to your vision.
What's included
I use top quality soft pastels with the best lightfast grading which means the colours will stay vibrant and will last a lifetime.
I use acid free paper meaning that it will not yellow over time and will be archival museum grade.

All portraits include a professional double mount with a choice of frame.
I offer a friendly, professional service with consultations, advice, including regular progress updates.

Process
Firstly you will need to choose a portrait size, once you have decided then we can discuss which coloured paper you would like for you portrait, I have a selection of four colours to choose from.
I take you along on the journey with me and keep you updated with progress updates, you can watch your portrait progress each step of way.
I will always confirm the details of your commissioned portrait before I begin and give an estimated time of completion.

A 25% deposit is required to secure your drawing slot/place on the waiting list.
The remaining payment can be made once the portrait is complete and once you are happy with the results.

if you have a specific date you'd like the portrait completed by, providing the drawing slot is available then this can be arranged.

Reference Photos
When Choosing a reference photo, you will need to consider that the better quality photo you can supply, generally the more detailed results I can achieve, however not to worry if the photo is not the best, the main requirement is that I can see the features clearly.

I request a selection of photographs, this helps me get a true representation of the subject so that I can capture the correct colours and features.
I understand that photographs may be limited if a family member/pet has passed, on these occasions I will do my best to work with the photographs you have.

photo tips - Natural lighting is always best, by a window or preferably outdoors with no direct sunlight, taking the photograph from a close distance, not zoomed in or far away.

When drawing more than one subject, I know that it can be tricky with getting the perfect shot of all subjects in a photograph, if this is the case for you then you can select your favourite images of each individual and I will place them together in one portrait, this is a popular request and majority of my work with more than one image are created from separate photographs, this means you can create the most perfect portrait of everyone.

Completion
Once I have completed your portrait, I will send you some images of the final results, I am happy to take feedback and make any final alterations that you may have.
Once you are happy with the final results then the remaining payment can be paid.
